Cosaco beer being produced. Photo: Dominic Bracco

Mexican microbrewers are a small group in a country long on beer consumption.

Despite their efforts to produce a variety of ales and stouts they have an uphill battle, still the perservere.

High production costs, limited distribution, higher prices due to imported ingredients and the competition of two of the country's biggest beer companies - Grupo Modelo and Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma.

Riviera Maya Slide Show - A Place Near Cancun to Visit or Live

Some of the beautiful people on The Riviera
via nytimes

The Riviera Maya is a 100-mile stretch of some of the most beautiful Caribbean scenery - cobalt blue waters met by bleached white sand. Hotel rooms, condos and timeshares line the coast, but, not in a commercial resort fashion.

Unlike nearby Cancun, the Riviera is more about low density, high relaxation...seclusion...for now. The area is becoming one of the fastest growing beaches in Mexico.

Beachfront condos for under $300,000
